How to install compiz fusion in ubuntu
Posted on 11th July 2008 by joe
So i am moving to a new operating system (ubuntu) and lot of new things going around my head. Since ubuntu is still new for me so i decided not to remove my Windows XP yet. In the previous post i already shows you few screenshots of my Hardy Heron. So today i am going to share with all technetz readers on how to install the desktop effects or compiz fusion in Ubuntu Hardy Heron.
How to?
Firstly you have to update your system with the latest software update. Open the terminal and type this sudo apt-get update hit enter and input your password.Wait until it finished.
Then you may proceed by checking your graphic card, you must enable your graphic card to get the effects. Go to System > Administration > Hardware Drivers. If your graphic card is disabled, enable it by check the enabled box.

It will prompted you to download the driver for your graphic card. Then you may need system reboot. If you are using non restricted graphic card driver like my girlfriends does, just proceed to the next level.
Finally is to download and install compizconfig settings manager. To make your life easier just use synaptic package manager (System > Administration > Synaptic Package Manager) and search for compiz. Inside the result check the compizconfig-settings-manager.
Apply the installation and wait for the process to finished. It just took me few minutes to complete To use it just go to System > Preferences>Advanced Desktop Effects Settings.
