Previously I wrote an article about adding an external antenna to Huawei E220 Hsdpa modem. Inside that modem there is a slot/connector for external antenna and you may need a mmcx connector which is very small in order to connect it to the external antenna. Tim Redfern from eclectronics.org prove the concept by using internal antenna for Dell Laptop. If you got an old dell laptop don’t throw it away, crack the lcd panel and take out the antenna.

The procedure is simple once you got the mmcx connector just connect it to your huawei modem and enjoy maximum signal boost. This is the result that Tim got. Nice one!
