BenniG from eeeUser Forum have done a really good job in modification Huawei E220 (Vodafone Easybox II) antenna for his EEEPC. This mod is actually for the internal hsdpa modem but the same method is applied when you want to mod it for the e220 external antenna. I think I already saw the same thing from jkkmobile where he crack his ZadaCOM 3G+ HSDPA modem tu work as a internal Asus EEEPC hsdpa modem.

External Huawei E220 is possible

I found an idea to mod the huawei antenna but i dont have enough tool to do it. It requires smal sma connector, I dont think i can found it on local electronics shop.

He just made a simple modification on the internal antenna. Solder it with the SMA to N-Type pigtail Connector. The previous e220 antenna mod suggest that we have to use the RG174 and matching N-Type antenna connector. Since it is very rare to get. So the best is just soldering the internal antenna part.
