This tutorial cover only how to update AVG antivirus. Me currently using AVG, because I can get it for free and of course it is user friendly.

If you don’t have AVG antivirus get the latest version (free)

Let’s start

Method 1 (if you have permanent internet connection)

1. Click on your AVG icon/shortcut ( see picture)

2. Click check for updates

3. Then update screen will pop up

4. You will know what to do after this. Just click on the internet. Then you will be automatically connected to the AVG centre, just wait . It will update itself. Enjoy it!!

Second method is update AVG antivirus manually. This Method applied when you don’t have permanent internet connection.

Update using folder

1.Go to http://www.grisoft.com/doc/update
2.Choose your update
3.Download it and save in same folder
4. repeat step 1-3 in the first method
5.click folder

6.it will ask where you put that update folder.
7.Click ok and just wait for the update finished.

This is a simple tips to decrease your powerpoint presentation (PPT) size, so you can maximise your hard disk free space. Microsoft Powerpoint is the most popular and simple software for presentation. What happen when you put too much pictures inside your presentation. Of course you may need lot of disk space. To solve the problem, you have to compress the pictures. I will guide you how to do this.


Ok lets start
1.Open your presentation
2.Go to file then click save as
this window will pop up

3.Click tools then click compress pictures

4.Tick the compress picture and you are done!!

How to?

So the tricks is: Iphone is using a safari browser and Zinio only offer free magazine through Safari browser. You don’t need to install Safari browser but you just have to change the value in the firefox browser config file.

Open your firefox browser and write “about:config” without (“) in the address bar. Find this settings “general.useragent.extra.firefox” and modify the value right click and click modify and change it to the “Mobile Safari 1.1.3“. By doing this any website that you visit will recognised your browser as Mobile safari. to read the magazine just navigate to zinio.com/iphone/ .So simple. Enjoy reading.

3.Installing WordPress

Ok this is the final steps that you have to go through before start using wordpress inside your computer. Download The latest version of WordPress . Once again go to tray bar and navigate to www directory. This is where you should upload all your WordPress stuffs. Extract your WordPress files inside it.

The final steps is go to the tray bar again and click on localhost. Your default browser will show first page of WordPress asking you to set up the database or config.php files. Just input your data from part 2. If you encounter any problems feel free to drop a comment here. Thanks folks

Why do i install WordPress inside my computer? The first reason is i don’t have permanent internet connection lol.I also can avoid myself from wasting my hosting bandwidth since its limited. I can screw up my template or database without any fear of losing it. Its good for theme testing purposes.

Installing WordPress Inside Computer As Simple As ABC

There are three basic parts

1. Installing Server ( I am using Wamp Server)

Download Wamp server from original website www.wampserver.com . Xampp server also do the same. In this tutorial i am using Wamp server since it comes with build in MySql and PHPMyAdmin (Database Manager). After finished downloading Wamp server, follow this installation steps. I skip few basics steps.

Just Click open to proceed

Hit finished and your server is ready!

1.Remove the Spyware

If you are using the *P-Version of softwares you may need regularly scan your computer with Anti-spyware. Spyware sometimes will slow down your computer. Get free AVG Anti-spyware, Adware by Lavasoft or spyware doctor. Download the software from the trusted site like Softpedia, or CNet.

2.Clean up junk in the Hard Disk

You can use CCleaner or built in disk cleanup ( Start>All Programes>Accessories>System tools>Disk Cleanup) inside windows XP.

3.Defrag Your Drive

Defragging drive can speed up time to access files inside your drive. Defragging drive is depend on how often you transfer and deleting files. Windows also have build in Disk Defragmenter (Start>All Programes>Accessories>System tools>Disk Defragmenter). I am using Defraggler Its completely free.

4.Remove the unwanted service that running inside your computer.

There are few services that run automatically on startup. You may disabled some unnecessary services. Do not proceed if you have doubt about this. To check services that run inside your computer.Go to Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services. Right click and choose properties. Change the setting from automatic to disabled.

5.Disabled unnecessary start up application.
To improve your computer’s boot time, disabling few startup program might help. Go to start>run type in “msconfig” or the easiest way is to run CCleaner (Tools>Startup)

To organize it I put all my downloaded files into one folder called download. In the end of the day I will move them to another folder according to the categories. To make this faster I have customized my “send to” menu to match the criteria that i want. Mp3 file into the music folder, video files into the video folders and so on.

To create your own send to shortcut,
Click start>run> type in shell:sendto then hit Ok.

Inside the send to folder right click and create new shortcut. Follow the instructions to create new shortcut and finished. Or you can drop another shortcut inside the send to folder. Gud Luck!
